PEACE RIBBON PROJECT at the NATIONAL CIVIL RIGHTS MUSEUM - May 26, 2007 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
CodePink's Peace Ribbon panels will be in Memphis, TN at the National Civil Rights Museum, weather permiting, on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. CodePink Memphis will be adding to the project with panels honoring the Iraq War Dead from the Memphis area, as well as a panel honoring all of the Tennessee dead through April of 2007. Join us at this moving exhibition.
We will follow the next day, with a Peace Picnic on Sunday, May 27th in Overton Park, hopefully near the Veterans War Memorial, where we will again, exhibit the Peace Ribbon Project.
NATIONAL IMPEACHMENT DAY-April 28th
Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., corner of Poplar and Highland (park area), Memphis, TN
Join us, Veterans for Peace, and Midsouth Peace and Justice, for a rally as we join other peace groups all over the country in showing other Memphians our desire to be governed by someone that is "for the people", not for the corporations and military industrial complex. There will be leafleting, that lists the Bush administration's wrongdoings, as well as signs for impeachment. Put on the PINK!
BOOKS NOT BOMBS PROTEST-Rep. Marsha Blackburn
April 10, 2007, Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Collierville Town Hall, 500 Poplar View Pkwy., Collierville, TN
(Town Hall Meeting Protest) Rep. Blackburn will be pushing for the No Child Left Behind act to be renewed. CodePink Memphis will be there to let her know we want better funded education, not more war. There will be anti-NCLB act leafleting at the door before the meeting.

There is no objective datum point at which children become adults; it is an amalgamation of ideas, experiences and perceptions. To insist that an unavoidable part of each child's growth is an acceptance of their elder's wrongdoings is the worst form of child abuse - that one of those wrongdoings should be this war is damnable.
